DECT Phones

What is a DECT Phone?

DECT stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications, it is a digital communication standard, which is primarily used for creating cordless phone systems. It originated in Europe, where it is the universal standard.

DECT phones have several advantages over the older analogue cordless with less interference and noise from electrical devices such as florescent lights plus a range of 50 meters indoors and 300 meters outdoors.

Most manufacturers design  their phones to the GAP (Generic Access Profile) standard allowing other GAP base stations and handsets from different manufacturers to be used together. This will  give basic functionality such as making and receiving calls.
Each base unit can support between 5 and 6 handsets making them ideal for larger houses and small offices as calls can be transferred between them.

We stock a range of DECT phones from single to quad handset packs both with and without a built in answering machine.
When choosing a phone things to consider are how many handsets you require, if you need an answering machine the number of phone book entries you need and if you require hands free.
Our stock is dependant upon what is available for refurbishment at any one time but our main brands are BT, Binatone and Philips.
